Reuthinger Preserve

30730 Oregon Road, Northwood, Ohio 43619

At the July 19, 2005, meeting of the Board of Park Commissioners, the donation of this small area of land was officially accepted by a unanimous vote. The Park District was named in the will of Mrs. Lucille Knepper, a lifelong resident of northern Wood County. Mrs. Knepper wanted to insure that her family farm remained a natural green space, protected from the urban sprawl of industry that was quickly surrounding the 69-acre family homestead in Perrysburg Township.
The land, located just north of Reuthinger Road and bordered by Oregon Road to the west and Tracy Road to the east, is primarily farmland with approximately 10 acres of woodlot.
In spring 2008, the preserve will become the home of the Park District Native Plant Project and Greenhouse with offices for the Stewardship Department.

The Mission of Wood County Park District is to preserve, protect, enhance and interpret
the natural and cultural resources of Wood County, while providing quality passive recreational
and educational opportunities to present and future Wood County citizens.
